2017-2018 Color Guard
(in alphabetical order)
Congratulations to these newly named color guard members:
What a talented group of people we had audition this year! We are VERY excited about the potential of this year’s group.
The first meeting is critical! Tuesday, May 9, 7:00p.m. in the band room. We will measure each person – even if you were on the guard last year. We plan on ordering costumes in the beginning of June. We can only do that if we have the first two payments; $50 on Monday May 1, and $100 from each person by Thursday, June 1. You can pay both of the first two deposits or the entire fee at the first meeting if you wish.
We are planning on at least one fundraiser in June to help you offset your third payment. We will give you more details at the meeting. We want EVERYONE to be a part of the fundraiser as this will help us purchase the warm-ups as well as flags for the year. Your fees only pay part of the expenses of being a guard member.
Again – We are SO excited for next year’s show and Color Guard! Congratulations!
Finishing with a Flourish
Please lend a hand for these end-of-the-school-year activities. We need you to make these successful!
Remember that your students also can and should sign up to help at these events. They'll earn lettering points.
Flower and Plant Pickup. May 3. See Kathy Webb about helping sort flowers and plants between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Car Show May 6. We need help with registration, parking and concessions. Please sign up in Charms.
End-of-Year Celebration May 15. A wonderful night of desserts and awards, especially honoring our seniors but also recognizing all grade levels for participation. We'll need help setting up/decorating, serving at the check-in table, and helping serve drinks and food. You can sign up in Charms or notify Denise Perkins.
Thank you for all you do to ensure our students' success!

Mark your calendars for May 6 and spread the word.
Our students will provide musical entertainment. The event is free for attendees, with concessions for purchase on site. Anyone wanting to enter a car in the show can do so for $20 now - or $25 the day of the event - using the form below.
Great Opportunity Selling Grocery Coupon Books
Selling Coupon books can be a very lucrative and successful fundraiser for individual students. Here is information from our Coupon Book Chairperson:
The way the coupon book fundraiser will work for students is that the student/parent will purchase the coupon books from BAW LONDON for $5 per book. Since the books cost BAW LONDON $1 per book, the student will receive $4 credit to their Charms account upon purchase and treasurer will log it into Charms. Then the cash that the student receives from selling the book is his/hers to keep, or he/she can choose to deposit it also in their Charms account. Receipts will be provided upon purchase. Coupons expire July 31, 2017. All 3 books have a $5 coupon (for a $75 purchase at HyVee or a $50 purchase at Hen House or Price Chopper), so buyers can recoup the cost easily.
Coupon books may be purchased by check made out to "BAW London" (or cash if necessary) from two different people/locations:
1) Dinah Humphreys, 8972 Twilight Lane, Lenexa, 66219. 913-709-2210.
2) Gwyn Valverde, 10315 W 92nd Pl., Overland Park, 66214. 913-548-5712.
