Act Now! Auction Items Needed
Our annual Silent Auction, coupled with a Pancake Breakfast, is Saturday, October 21. This Band-Aides sponsored event is a huge fundraiser for us.
We ask each family to donate one auction item. Please begin now to collect donations, due Oct. 16. Use the attached form with donors. Suggested items include cash toward the music program, or merchandise or gift certificates that we can use for the silent auction that occurs during the pancake breakfast.
Funds are used to support all Band and Jazz programs, and we must have the support of EVERY band household to make this a success. THANK YOU for your support!
Thank you so much to those who have already volunteered to help support our students. We always have a great time, and we couldn't do it without you.

Congrats, National Merit Semifinalists!
Wow, what a fantastic honor for our band senior Rachel Silverstein!
Of the 1.6 million National Merit® Scholarship Program entrants, about 50,000 with the highest PSAT/NMSQT® Selection Index scores qualify for Semifinalist or Commended recognition in the program. The top third, or about 16,000, qualify as a semifinalists.
Way to represent the band program, SM West and the state of Kansas, and congrats to Erin Smith as well!
Can You Assist?
There are a few places where we could REALLY use your help with IMPORTANT Band-Aides roles:
- Auction chair, and roles including games chair and freshman outreach. Jennifer promises that "Volunteers won't have to do too much soliciting. I do need some organizers, though."
- Jazz on the Bridge
- Dine to Donate
- Car show committee
We have a couple of new items now, with more to come. See the attachment for designs and ordering information. We'd like to get the order in promptly, so respond right away.
We need to have at least 10 orders for each of these two shirts to get an economical print cost.
Contact Angela Masters-Quick with any questions. 913-963-9471. Send in your form and payment in an envelope labeled "Spirit Wear" to Mr. Thomas.
