Congratulations to our West Pride Percussion and Dance Team and Color Guard<\/strong> for their performances yesterday!\u00a0 \u00a0The Drumline came in 2nd<\/sup> in their division and 4th<\/sup> overall.\u00a0 The Color Guard and Dance Team came in 3rd<\/sup> in their division and 5th<\/sup> overall.\u00a0 Most importantly, this was their best performance all year.\u00a0 Keep up the great work! \u00a0Parents – you were phenomenal. \u00a0 Thanks for your assistance. \u00a0We can’t do it without you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

This Week<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tomorrow is an ODD day.<\/strong>  We will have our typical 7:00a rehearsal.  All pit equipment will go out with sound equipment so we can fine tune our show.  Lots to clean and more visuals to add.  Keep up the great work!  Please honor your friends and be on the field at 7:00a. not just in the band room.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday night\u2019s rehearsal <\/a>will have our 8th<\/sup> graders with us<\/strong> so they can be ready to perform pregame with us on Thursday, Oct. 17.\u00a0 Please encourage them and help them find their way.\u00a0 How you treat them matters!\u00a0 They will be scarred and will be looking for acceptance and people that play the same instrument as them.\u00a0 Seek them out and say hello \u2013 get to know them.\u00a0 Once again, we will take out all of our pit and sound equipment.\u00a0 We will run pregame first, then work on our show.\u00a0 Choir members \u2013 have a great concert.\u00a0 Please let me know who we will be missing for this rehearsal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday morning is our last rehearsal for the week.<\/strong>  Let\u2019s make it count!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday \u2013 Concert Band and OE Concert \u2013 7:00p in the auditorium<\/a>.\u00a0 <\/strong>Call time will be 6:30 in the band room.\u00a0 Some OE members will be playing with the concert band to fill in missing instrumentation.\u00a0 We will play through things prior to the concert at 6:30.\u00a0 Dress is \u201cnice\u201d clothes.\u00a0 No jeans, tennis shoes, flip flops, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday – No School – End of the first Quarter<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday \u2013 K-State<\/a> \u2013 Schedule below<\/strong>.\u00a0 Make sure you have your black shorts and your band shirt.\u00a0 It will be hot in the afternoon for our clinic and our performance.\u00a0 If it is overly hot, we may perform without our jackets.\u00a0 If it gets really hot, we may perform in T-shirts and shorts!\u00a0 Stay tuned! \u00a0Bring money for supper ($20) and any snacks at the stadium. \u00a0See Dr. Thomas if this is an issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

London Dignitary Visit \u2013 Wednesday, October 23, 7:00p<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Please make plans to join us for this important event.  We will have members of the London New Years Day Parade and various local dignitaries in attendance.  They will present us with the \u201cOfficial Parade Invitation\u201d at this event, but perhaps more importantly they want to meet you – the students and parents of our band.  They set up this event to promote excitement and encourage everyone to be involved and not miss out on this life-changing event.   Here is a rough schedule for the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
