All band parents and interested parties are invited to come to the Band Aides West parent meeting for October, 2019. We'll review what we've done, what's coming up and how you can help make our band the best it can be!
The District marching band competition. Times and locations are flexible; be sure to check with your band student for more information as this approaches!
The SM West homecoming parade will begin at approximately 1:30 pm in the circle drive of Shawnee Mission West High School. The parade proceeds down 85th Street to Santa Fe Drive and concludes at Overland Park Elementary School. Parents and guests are invited to attend or watch along the parade route.
Come out to the game and cheer on the band - and the football team!
Don't worry about dinner on Wednesday - head over to Panera Bread and support the West Bands! All sales at Panera Bread (15221 West 87th Street, Lenexa, KS) from 4- to 8 PM will have a portion donated to the Shawnee Mission West Pride Band - just mention you are with the Band when you order!
Kansas Bandmasters Association - SM West Pride Band has our first performance at 9:30 AM! Schedule from Mr. Thomas: Saturday: KBA Marching Festival - STRANGE schedule. Not my desire, but due to a packed performance schedule (28 bands), we must leave the campus at noon (fire marshal’s declaration), then if we are in finals, we will drive back. Please eat breakfast prior to arrival in the morning. You can eat lunch when we arrive back in KC. Our band Seniors will be introduced at Halftime, and following the game we have our annual Glow Show - no stadium lights, just glow sticks and flashlights! Always an amazing time! Schedule and Info from Mr. Thomas: Everyone needs 2 (D-Cell - flashlights), then all the glow sticks you want. Purchase early, so you are not frantic the night of the show. November 2nd, Shawnee Mission West Band will be hosting our first annual Craft Fair in conjunction with a pancake breakfast and performances by our top bands! Over 40 vendors will have their crafts for sale, Chris Cakes will be serving pancakes, and our band will be performing throughout the day!
