Shawnee Mission West Band at the Chili Supper

Section Battle Winners!

Tonight at the Chili Supper and Concert the BAW had a SECTION BATTLE!  The purpose was to raise money to purchase a trailer for the band to haul equipment on the field for marching festivals and performances.  Donation tubs were on the table in the gym.  Bills counted towards the total, and coins added to the tubs subtracted from the total for each section.  The winning section will receive a donut party during sectional practice.

Tonight’s winner is—PERCUSSION!!!  With a net amount of $116.65.

The other sections were–

  • Trumpets & Horns–$106.66 net (bills minus coin)
  • Clarinets–$65.57 net
  • Flutes & Oboe–$49.37 net
  • And finally, Saxophones, Bassoon & Band Staff– $19.80 net

All together, this event raised $471.96 (less the cost of the donuts!)
