Congratulations to both the Symphonic Band for receiving an Excellent (II) rating and the Wind Ensemble for receiving a Superior (I) rating this past Thursday.   Everyone worked hard and improved immensely!   Great Work!  Congratulations are also in order for the Jazz Lab Ensemble, and Overland Express for amazing performances at the Jazz on the Bridge concert on Friday!    It is always such a treat to see everyone step up to the plate to dig deep within themselves to pull out all the musicality that they have learned over the past 4-8 years.  Way to represent yourselves as well as your school!    Keep it up; we’re not finished yet! First of all, congratulations to the jazz students and parents for a successful and wonderful trip to New Orleans this past weekend.  I am hearing lots of great stories.  I’m so glad that we can provide this opportunity to you to broaden your horizons of jazz history and culture! (Apologies from your webmaster for the delay in posting this!) Next Thursday is the State Large Group Music Festival at Olathe East (for the bands).  Here is our schedule for this day. 9:15a – Load busses 9:30 – Depart West 10:00 – Arrive O. Busy week ahead, lots of schedule notes! Lets see what the band has going on for this first week of April! Tomorrow – Pep Assembly for Spring Sports and Prom King and Queen.  I will send an excused list for everyone on the pep band list to join us tomorrow.  Please get out of class at 9:30 to come to the band room, play a couple of tunes and head to the gym.  Marching Brass – I just sent tubas and baritones to be cleaned and repaired.  Bring your concert euphoniums if yours is not in your locker.  I left three sousaphones; we can get a brass if needed.  Please…

This is concert week for us.  Saturday is the Pancake Breakfast and Concert.  This is a fundraising event for BAW to raise funds to continue to provide opportunities for our bands and our students.  Please invite family, friends, and co-workers.

Tomorrow night there is an orchestra concert in which many band students will be performing with the strings to create a "Full Orchestra."  Therefore, we will not have a pep band play at tomorrow night’s basketball games.  We just will not have enough players to field a qualitative, representative group.   Thursday night is the December band concert beginning at 7:00p.m.  We will take our yearbook pictures prior to the concert at 6:00p for the Wind Ensemble and 6:15 for the Symphonic (Concert) Band.  Students need to be onstage at their appointed time with their instrument. Remember, concert dress is ALL BLACK.  Women can wear a long black dress or dress pants…

Congratulations to both the Symphonic Band for receiving an Excellent (II) rating and the Wind Ensemble for receiving a Superior (I) rating this past Thursday.   Everyone worked hard and improved immensely!   Great Work!  Congratulations are also in order for the Jazz Lab Ensemble, and Overland Express for amazing performances at the Jazz on the Bridge concert on Friday!    It is always such a treat to see everyone step up to the plate to dig deep within themselves to pull out all the musicality that they have learned over the past 4-8 years.  Way to represent yourselves as well as your school!    Keep it up; we’re not finished yet! First of all, congratulations to the jazz students and parents for a successful and wonderful trip to New Orleans this past weekend.  I am hearing lots of great stories.  I’m so glad that we can provide this opportunity to you to broaden your horizons of jazz history and culture! (Apologies from your webmaster for the delay in posting this!) Tomorrow – Pep Assembly for Spring Sports and Prom King and Queen.  I will send an excused list for everyone on the pep band list to join us tomorrow.  Please get out of class at 9:30 to come to the band room, play a couple of tunes and head to the gym.  Marching Brass – I just sent tubas and baritones to be cleaned and repaired.  Bring your concert euphoniums if yours is not in your locker.  I left three sousaphones; we can get a brass if needed.  Please…

This is concert week for us.  Saturday is the Pancake Breakfast and Concert.  This is a fundraising event for BAW to raise funds to continue to provide opportunities for our bands and our students.  Please invite family, friends, and co-workers.

Tomorrow night there is an orchestra concert in which many band students will be performing with the strings to create a "Full Orchestra."  Therefore, we will not have a pep band play at tomorrow night’s basketball games.  We just will not have enough players to field a qualitative, representative group.   Thursday night is the December band concert beginning at 7:00p.m.  We will take our yearbook pictures prior to the concert at 6:00p for the Wind Ensemble and 6:15 for the Symphonic (Concert) Band.  Students need to be onstage at their appointed time with their instrument. Remember, concert dress is ALL BLACK.  Women can wear a long black dress or dress pants…
