Congratulations to our West Pride Percussion and Dance Team and Color Guard for their performances yesterday! The Drumline came in 2nd in their division and 4th overall. The Color Guard and Dance Team came in 3rd in their division and 5th overall. Most importantly, this was their best performance all year. Keep up the great work! Parents – you were phenomenal. Thanks for your assistance. We can’t do it without you!
This Week
Tomorrow is an ODD day. We will have our typical 7:00a rehearsal. All pit equipment will go out with sound equipment so we can fine tune our show. Lots to clean and more visuals to add. Keep up the great work! Please honor your friends and be on the field at 7:00a. not just in the band room.
Tuesday night’s rehearsal will have our 8th graders with us so they can be ready to perform pregame with us on Thursday, Oct. 17. Please encourage them and help them find their way. How you treat them matters! They will be scarred and will be looking for acceptance and people that play the same instrument as them. Seek them out and say hello – get to know them. Once again, we will take out all of our pit and sound equipment. We will run pregame first, then work on our show. Choir members – have a great concert. Please let me know who we will be missing for this rehearsal.
Wednesday morning is our last rehearsal for the week. Let’s make it count!
Thursday – Concert Band and OE Concert – 7:00p in the auditorium. Call time will be 6:30 in the band room. Some OE members will be playing with the concert band to fill in missing instrumentation. We will play through things prior to the concert at 6:30. Dress is “nice” clothes. No jeans, tennis shoes, flip flops, etc.
Friday – No School – End of the first Quarter
Saturday – K-State – Schedule below. Make sure you have your black shorts and your band shirt. It will be hot in the afternoon for our clinic and our performance. If it is overly hot, we may perform without our jackets. If it gets really hot, we may perform in T-shirts and shorts! Stay tuned! Bring money for supper ($20) and any snacks at the stadium. See Dr. Thomas if this is an issue.
