Let me begin by thanking all of our wonderful parents for their help at Friday’s game. You are crucial to making our band program great! Students, way to persevere in a busy, demanding week—you handled it with poise and dedication. Bravo!
Here is a look ahead at our first concert of the year and upcoming marching band competitions. Please read on!
Key Program Reminders & Action Items
- Seniors (Senior Recognition Form Due Wednesday): Have you filled out your Senior Recognition form yet? It is due by Wednesday. Please text each other to make sure this gets accomplished please. We need to allow our parent volunteers time to assemble the flyer with all of your photos and bios for Senior Night. 👉 (https://forms.gle/e6VWN6yWhWH1dCs58)
- Glow Show (Friday, Oct. 16): Our Glow Show is coming up on Friday, October 16! Each marching band student will need to provide their own glow sticks for the show.
- Schedule: After introducing senior band/guard members and parents, students will take the 3rd and 4th quarters off to adorn themselves with glow sticks.
- Rules: No flashing lights and no lights shining directly at the audience (these disrupt video recordings and affect the viewing experience).
- Preparation Tip: If you wish to affix glow sticks to clothing at home, doing so will make preparation time much less stressful. Please wear dark tops and bottoms so the glow sticks really pop!
- Band Fees: If you still owe band fees, please send cash or a check to the band office with your student, or pay online through Cut Time.
- Instrument Rental Forms: If you received an instrument rental form last week, please return it at your earliest convenience. Many parents paid during back-to-school fees, but the forms were omitted from the packets. Some students still need to fill out the form so fees can be charged through Skyward (please note: this fee cannot be paid through Cut Time).

- Friday, Oct. 16 – Senior Night & Glow Show (No School – PT Conferences):

The end is in sight for the marching band. Keep pushing yourselves. You’re doing great. Think about what you can do to improve your performance. If every student fixes 10 things (musically, marching, choreography, horn visuals etc.), we can make literally 1000 improvements this week! Let’s do this!
