Decorate notes on a musical staff

Band Notes, April 13, 2025

Congratulations to both the Symphonic Band and the Wind Ensemble for earning an Excellent (II) rating last Thursday at the State Large Group Music Festival. Way to go OE for the Jazz on the Bridge event – wonderful performance.  Thanks to all those who helped set up and manage the event.  It takes a village.

Important

Seniors – Don’t forget that we need a Senior Picture (hard copy preferred) and a baby picture from each of you.  The baby picture can be returned if desired.  These will be used for the Year-End Video as well as the composite that hangs in the band room. 

  • Senior Pictures due THIS Friday April 18 – (2.5×3.5) for composite to hang in the band room and for use in the Year-End video
  • Baby picture – can be a scan or digital image 300dpi or better.  Also due Friday April 18.  Photos taken during events can be found at bandaides.org/photo
  • Senior Scholarship Application (optional) – email was shared earlier this week.  Due May 5.

Special Edition Recording – Don’t forget that Will England, webmaster, photographer, content creator is recording an album to be made into a Keepsake LP – that’s a vinyl record for those who don’t know.  You can reach out to him directly for details and cost/payment.  There is no profit to be made, just a really cool limited edition, recording of our groups at the end of the year.  Will can be reached at: webmaster@bandaides.org

  • Recording will be made at the Spring (last) concert
  • Selections will focus on bands with Seniors – we only get 45 minutes for an LP album.
  • Cost will be at least $50 per record, more likely $100 to $125. Very low volume ’boutique’ records are very expensive to press
  • A commitment form and financial spreadsheet showing all costs will be posted once we have the song list picked for the Spring concert. An email will be sent out with those links when available.
