Band Camp Preparation
EVERYONE needs to bring their own water bottles, SUNSCREEN, wear tennis shoes and socks (no flipflops), hats are also a good thing. I personally LOVE Dr. Pepper, but caffeine is not good for you when it is hot. Please make sure you begin drinking water a few days prior to camp. Additionally, you MUST eat something for breakfast each day. You will be working hard and for those of us sitting under an air conditioner all summer, the heat can really take a toll. These tips can save you from suffering negative effects of the heat. We will be outside in the mornings until 11:30 and inside in the afternoons, but it can still be quite taxing by 11:30a.m
Your Music for Band Camp
Check your email for the part we need each person to play this year. It probably is not the same part you played last season, but we need a balanced instrumentation. These assignments allow for that. Also check your email for links to all of the music; they are available for download by the students on any computer. Using the spreadsheet, knowing your assigned part, follow each link to download your part to print and begin to memorize. If you cannot print it, you can at least download and begin practicing. We will have printed parts for you at camp if needed. When you are finished downloading all of your parts, you should have seven pieces of music – 4 songs for pre-game and 3 for the show.
It’s going to be a hot week, a fast week and it’s coming up quickly! Be sure you read, understand and have your music, instrument and marching feet ready! We have a great season ahead of us, and this is just the start!
