Band Notes, April 30

First, congratulations to our state Solo & Ensemble performers! Awesome job, all of you! Next – we have a concert this week and more coming up. Check out this weeks Band Notes!

Monday – There is NO BAW meeting tomorrow night.  It has been postponed to a later day.  This will be a planning session for next fall.

Tuesday – Percussion rehearsal – final preparations for the drum show.   Keep pushing.  This is going be great!

Wednesday – Lettering points are due to Dr. Thomas or Mr. Hupe before class is out.  After class the spreadsheet will be handed off to the office so they can complete their work and preparations for our Banquet.  

Thursday – Final Band Concert of the year.  The Jazz Bands will start us off.  Dress is “nice casual.” No jeans, no tennis shoes.  Spring colors are the order of the day.  ðŸ™‚ The concert will begin at 7:00p and will last about an hour and a half.  Call time for the performers is 6:30p.

Several students got together and listened to music and mulled over numerous thoughts and ideas and a final selection has been made.  Next year’s marching band show has been selected.  It is the music of the rock group Queen.  Here is a link to the website allowing download of the audio file.  Music parts will be tweaked to add or adapt as needed.  https://msconcepts.com/products/queen-hybrid-gr-3

  • May 10 – Senior Scholarship applications are due to Carrie Johnson
  • May 13 – Percussion Rehearsal 1-4p (West Aud.)
  • May 15 – Percussion Concert
  • May 16 – Band Banquet for ALL students and their parents.  Each student will be recognized.  6p, West Cafeteria
  • May 17 – West Graduation – All Concert Band members are performing.  Call time 6:30p at South stadium.

Thanks for being amazing!   Mr. Hupe and I are so blessed to be able to work with such dedicated parents and students!  Keep going!  The finish line is in sight!
