Please support your student by helping for a shift. Students will also have opportunities to serve during the event and earn lettering points. The student sign up will be in the front of the band room.
Upcoming Schedule
This week we have evening Parent Teacher Conferences, and then no school on Friday but we DO have a home basketball game (Black Band) on Friday!
Pep Band, we will take Pep band picture on Thursday morning after the Pep Assembly. Make sure to wear your Band T-shirt. No Band T-shirt; No picture.
Sponge Bob the Musical will take place on Thursday-Saturday, February 19-21. We have many of our band students involved on the stage, under the stage (pit orchestra), and behind the stage (production crew). It is shaping up to be a really fun show. Please make plans to attend!
Again, we will have a basketball game on Friday, February 20 (Gold Band). We need all pep band members for this night to help cover for the students involved in the musical. Please help if you can.
We have a couple of young ladies in the band who are collecting elementary aged books for a girl scout project. If you have some gently used books you’d like to donate, there is a box in the front of the band room. Please help if you can.
Fill the Trailer
The band will be collecting items to donate this coming May to Savers. Mostly clothes, but other household items as well. If you are cleaning out your closets of clothes, shoes, books, etc., please consider holding on to them for a little while. This will be a new fundraiser for us. We hope to FILL THE BAND TRAILER! Savers pay by the pound. Can you imagine the profit we can make if we pool our resources and FILL the Band Trailer!
Seniors (and parents!)
Seniors & Parents – Begin thinking about the year-end banquet. We need a senior pic and a baby pic from each senior. You can send a digital baby pic, but I do need REAL senior pics for the composite picture that hangs in the band room please. I need those before the end of April. I just wanted to give you a heads up.
Senior Pep Band members – We need to talk this week about Senior Night for Pep Band. You and your parents will be introduced at halftime of the final home basketball game on Tuesday, February 24. I need to get any updates you wish to make to your bio from football season – THIS WEEK PLEASE.
That’s all for now. There was a lot to take in this week. Please take careful notes so you don’t miss anything. Wind Ensemble, don’t forget we will rehearse the next two weeks in the cafeteria. Please be on time. We’ll see you soon!
