Band Notes 9-7-26 | Band Aides West

Wow – what a night on Friday! Thank you, students and parents, for your hard work and efforts under difficult conditions. We did it! Thank you as well to the students who traveled to McAuliffe for Friday’s Pep Band event. You brought a ton of smiles and goodwill to our community. A young neighbor even came up to tell me he saw me with the band this weekend and now wants to join the band next year! That positive vibe is exactly why these events are so important.

Friday Performance

We’ve got photos (still to come) and video from both the pregame performance and the first movement of the marching show! Share with your friends and family who weren’t able to watch your first on-field performance of the year!

Schedule

Tuesday Rehearsal & Drill Update Hopefully, it will be cool enough tomorrow for us to get some drill time outside on the field. We only have a few more sets left to complete Movement 1 so we can move on to Movement 2.

· Music Pass-Offs: Movement 2 must be passed off from memory by this Friday. Section leaders – your pass-offs should happen tomorrow!

Seminar Tasks & Passes (Tomorrow) Seminar should be open tomorrow. If you need a pass, please come get one before school starts. Section leaders, please text your sections tonight so everyone knows to come early for a pass.

We need help with a few seminar projects:

· Freshman Roadies & other Volunteers: I need help assembling the backdrop bases just outside the band room.

· Drum Majors: Please pull t-shirts and instruments for visiting 8th graders.

· Percussionists: Please help setting up marching equipment for 8th graders during seminar.

The rest of the week follows our normal schedule.

Please make sure you are taking your instruments home to practice!
