We’re kind of getting into a routine.   YAY Band!  Again – GREAT job at the car wash yesterday!  See yesterday’s email for exact details for collecting pledges and donations and how/when to turn them in.

Freshman Concert Band Members –

We have an incredible opportunity for you to join the Marching Band at home football games and our competitions.  We typically like to pick up 6-8 interested freshmen to help on game days.  This includes helping parents load/unload the trailer, getting props on/off the field and more.  We will feed you are all of the events.  You will get to travel with the Marching Band through the month of October.  Dr. Thomas will discuss in class this week.  Students that have done this in the past have loved it and felt especially connected to the program.

This Weeks Schedule

London  BAW Scholarship Forms due tomorrow  (Monday) by the end of the day.  Remember, your family must be members of Band~Aides ($10) to be considered for a scholarship.  After all, that is the organization providing the scholarships.  🙂

Tuesday – Percussion rehearsal ONLY from 6-8p.  Color Guard, Dance Team and Hornline are off tomorrow night.

Thursday evening is the “Instrument Petting Zoo” for potential beginner 5th graders. This runs from 6-8p.   Mr. Hupe has talked to some students to help.  This is a reminder for those students.  If this is you, please be in the cafeteria around 5:45p.

Anyone that has not returned their Forms and Fees packet from the beginning of school, you are late.  Even if you can’t pay the fee at the moment, we NEED the forms back immediately.  Thanks for your help!

London – Single Room?  Chaperones, if you desire a single room in London, I need an official request (email) from you by Sept. 4.  The Single Room supplement price is $840.

London – Grandstand seats?  Chaperones, if you desire grandstand seats for the London New Year’s Day Parade, I need an official request (email) from you by Sept. 4.  Grandstand seat price is $100.

REMINDER: All London trip costs/fees must be paid in full by October 17.

Monday (Sept. 1) – No school

Tuesday (Sept. 2) – Regular Tuesday night rehearsal (6p), AND Band-Aides Booster Club meeting (7p).  All band parents are encouraged to join us to see what is happening and how you can support and encourage your student to success!

Thursday (Sept. 4) – London Chaperone Meeting – 7p in the band room.  We will begin with MVP training.  This is required for ALL London Chaperones
