Wonderful job Marching Band on Friday night! You all are working so hard to learn your music, choreography, and drill. BRAVO! Each show gets better and better. Keep it up!
This looks like a potential rainy week. Come prepared, if it is not raining and it is safe to go outside we will. Wear shoes that can get a little damp. If it is raining, we will stay inside and work music and visuals. Guard will work choreography.
Schedule
Monday – Inside to watch the video and glean what information we can to continue to improve. Outside to learn drill – no instruments. Freshman, finish the Fight Song playing test and begin music for our October concert.
London Meeting in the cafeteria – 7:00p. We will unveil the tentative itinerary, and complete chaperone assignments. We’ll also take Passports, and payments. If you have not yet turned in your passport or don’t have it yet, PLEASE fill out this form today. I needed it earlier this week. 🙂 This gives me important information that I need NOW. We are still having students turn in Car Wash money, so those funds have not yet been credited in Cut Time.
Tuesday – Normal evening rehearsal – inside or out. We have lots of work we can accomplish either way.
Wednesday – Keep on keeping on. Don’t be late, we begin at 7:00a.
Friday – Normal morning rehearsal. Pep Band! Any Marching Band or Concert Band member is encouraged to join us at SM South as a pep band. All you need is your instrument, cheer sheets 1-3, and wearing your Band T-shirt. Your T-shirt and instrument get you in for free. We will sit on the East side of the stadium, so you can also park on the east side. Please be in the stands by 6:30p so we can cheer on the South Band for pregame.
Other News
Central States Marching Festival Movement Schedule at K-State – That schedule is attached. I know there are some students that wish to return for the Homecoming Dance that evening. I have one bus primed and ready to return after our performance. Please fill out this form to let me know who wishes to return early, who wishes to stay to the end to watch the K-State Band perform and get our ratings, and who can go either way. Ultimately, we only have 52 seats on each bus, so we have to have the correct numbers on both buses to make this work. Any parent photographers, please contact Will England <wengland@gmail.com> and he will set up a gallery for you to upload your photos from the event to. Videos are welcome too – sharing in WeTransfer or Transfer.it sites works well for large files; send the link to Will for titling and posting to our YouTube Channel.
Freshman Parents and Students – do you have the correct concert attire for our performance on Thursday, October 9? Please refer to the band handbook on the **BAW website **if questions. If obtaining the necessary uniform is problematic, PLEASE reach out to Dr. Thomas NOW for assistance. The day before is too late. We certainly don’t want to create a hardship for anyone.
Corporate Sponsorships – Do you know someone with a business that might want to become a corporate sponsor? We have several businesses that have teamed up with the band through Band-Aides (who is a 501(c)3 Charitable Organization to the IRS) to lend a helping financial hand to our students. I’ve also been learning about Donor Advised Funds recently. There are many ways to become involved and support these incredible students! **Check out our corporate sponsorship page. **If you have specific questions, please reach out to Dr. Thomas.
Please fill out the various forms listed above. Have an incredible week!
