Hello everyone. We have a busy week, and there are a LOT of things here to take notice of so please read carefully.
Schedule
Monday – 6:30p – Who is available to help with backdrops? We need 3-4 student to help cut wind slits in our backdrops. In addition, we need 3-4 more students that can help build the backdrops AND learn to push them on the field for the shows. I would love to have students who can commit to doing this for each Tuesday night rehearsal, football game and show competition. We will probably be working from 6:30-8:30ish. Monday is an Odd Block day.
Tuesday – Fr. Concert Band will finish their Alma Mater playing test during class. Normal rehearsal from 6-8 for full marching band and then an extra hour for the drumline. We can also use Freshman Roadies (from Fr. Concert Band) to help with moving equipment at 5:45p. Anyone needing adjustments to their uniform should arrive by 5:30 to meet with the uniform moms.
Thursday – GAME DAY! – Call time is 4:00p for the marching band and Freshman Roadies. You may stay after school. Remember to wear your Band T-shirt, have your black marching shoes and BLACK LONG SOCKS. We will change into uniform, load the trailer, and load the busses, pulling out by 4:30 to drive to the stadium. We will rehearse from 5:00p – 5:30 on the stadium turf. BAW will serve dinner to the band and adult helpers. Pregame begins at 6:40. Parents – if you want to see the band’s pregame performance, you should plan on getting to the stadium by around 6:20, allowing time to walk in purchasing tickets if needed. Look for the Gold WEST PRIDE banner on the southwest corner of the press box. That is near the band and where other band parents tend to sit. We will perform at half-time, then have third quarter off to go to the concession stand or go hang with their friends until 4th quarter. After the game, we reload the trailer and head back to West to unload. ALL students help unload and will be dismissed AFTER their uniforms are hung up properly and the trailer has been completely unloaded. Parents, if you are picking up your student at the school after the evening is completed, please have your student call you when the game is over or at the very least be at the band room by 10:00p. The directors want to go home in a timely manner also. 🙂
Friday – No School
Saturday – CSI Leadership Institute at Olathe Northwest beginning at 9:00a for those students who signed up.

PARENTS AND STUDENTS – Have you BOTH completed your Skyward forms for athletics/activities? Please double check. There are a LOT of you who have not completed this important step. Here are directions from the activities secretary.
Parents will log into their parent skyward account and complete their parent “Online Verification.”
- If a parent has forgotten their password, they can reset it.
- If they do not think they have a parent skyward account set up, they need to contact student services.
Students will log into their student skyward account and complete their student “Online Forms.” This should only take 2-3 minutes.

You can also download an APP from the Apple App store or Google Play store for free. Look for “UK ETA” with the picture of a crown. The cost is about $21 US Dollars. YOU MUST complete this step BEFORE turning in your passport to Dr. Thomas or Mr. Hupe. Passports are needed by September 19 – in the band office. I am beginning to compile the necessary information to purchase airline tickets. The clock is ticking…
Mr. Horlacher discovered and corrected the issues we were having with My Music Office, so I was able to transfer the London remaining balances from MMO into Cut Time yesterday! I know many of you were waiting to be able to make payments via credit card – and now you can! I noticed that several travelers are behind in payments. Each traveler’s account should have been at $3,000 as of August 18. We are now three weeks past that, please do what you can to catch up with that payment. REMEMBER – all accounts must be paid in full on October 17. This includes band fees. Chaperones, I added one additional account using the same contact email yo have for your student. If there are multiple chaperone members in the same household, I combined them under one name.
